One of the most important things for me as a freshman was finding the best professors. I had heard so many horror stories about professors who didn’t give A’s or made it impossible to stay awake during class. I needed to find a way to get some information about who gave really interesting lectures and cared about their students and their grades. I was lucky to finally get in on the secret of www.ratemyprofessor.com and “The Key”.

The “rate my professors” website offers a place for students to give their opinions about professors and rate them on scales like easiness, helpfulness, and clarity as well as post comments about the class and professor. This site offers ratings on professors at colleges all over the country, not just UGA. Occasionally you will find that your professor is not on the website and that is because he/she is either new or their students have chosen to not post anything. This website is really helpful! You will find comments ranging from “Did a lot of dreaming in this class” to “Best teacher of my life…Definitely take this course!”

“The Key” is a GREAT resource for Georgia students. It holds the records for each class and professor in terms of grades. You can see how many A’s, B’s, and C’s your professor gave last year in a specific class or you can find your class and see which professor has the best grade distribution. This is helpful because if you are looking for an A, it makes it easy to find it!! The easiest way to find this site is to go to uga.edu and type in “The Key” in the search bar. Take advantage of this!!!
