Bid Package - Frequently Asked Questions - UGA
1. When will my daughter know about her sorority bid?
According to the Greek Life Office at UGA, bids will be issued at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15th.
2. What is pre-ordering? Can I do that online?
We are offering pre-ordering as an option this year and it can be done online. <br>
Begin by looking at what is available for the various sororities. Items vary by sorority. Then go to the Pre-Order/I Don't Know Yet tab in the sorority section. (You can thank a mom for this great idea! We do listen to our customers!) Select the items you want to order for your daughter and proceed to check out as you normally would with online shopping. <br>
Two important things to remember: <br>
A: On Bid Night, please send us an email (customerservice@bulldogbaskets.com) with your daughter's name in the subject line and in the text of the email, please write a sentence like this: Callie Waller pledged Kappa Alpha Theta. Notice that you need to clearly indicate the sorority your daughter pledged by spelling out the entire name of the sorority. Do NOT use sorority nick names like Kappa, Theta, KD, ADPi, AOPi, etc. It gets very confusing and leaves lots of room for mistakes. One thing we've learned over the years, is mothers don't like mistakes with Bid Day packages!
B: If you ordered a make up bag for your daughter and she pledges a sorority where a make up bag is NOT offered, you can let us know in your email what to substitute or to just refund your money. Either is fine. We will do our very best to be helpful and accommodating with substitutions. Refunding for online orders is very easy. We will handle that on Tuesday and your money should be back in your bank account within three business days.
3. Can I continue to pre-order by phone? How does that work?
We love to talk with our customers on the phone! You are welcome to call us. We will need to know your daughter's name, her UGA address and cell phone number. We will need to know your name and the billing information associated with your credit card.
Also, you can tell us what you’d like to order----wait, we know you don’t know what sorority she’ll pledge until 5:30. What you can tell us is (example here again) you know you want the bid day package and balloons and maybe the shower wrap if it is available for the sorority she pledges. <br>
We will wait to hear from you on Bid Night to learn what sorority she pledged. We will not deliver a package to the dorm until we hear from you. You may email (customerservice@bulldogbaskets.com) the sorority pledged or leave it on our voice mail. Please make sure that in your email or voice mail you give us your name, your daughter’s name, and the sorority she pledged and put your daughter's name in the subject line and the name of the sorority in the email itself.
4. What do I do if your phones are busy and I keep getting your voice mail?
Leave a message! Please leave a message with a clear telephone number and speak slowly! We will return your call. Our phones are jammed on Bid Night (many friends come over to help and we are all calling back on our cell phones!) and we will get back to you as quick as we can.
5. Where will you deliver her package?
Packages for UGA residence halls will be delivered starting at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Monday night. It is perfectly fine for your daughter to ask her she has a package at the front desk of her dorm. We do our best to have deliveries made by midnight. Please don't panic if it is not there when she checks! Many times the desk staff at the residence halls are very busy that night and are trying to "log in" the gifts as quickly as possible. We are working with them to make this process as error free as possible. Please be patient! We will call your daughter to confirm delivery on Tuesday morning AFTER 10:00 a.m.
You can check our Facebook page (Bulldog Baskets) to see where we are in the calling and delivery process. We will update our Facebok page throughout the night on Bid Night and on Tuesday.
Off campus deliveries will be made on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. We will call to coordinate delivery with your daughter if she lives off campus.
6. What information will you need?
Listen carefully to the sorority she pledged. When you call you'll be asked to say each Greek letter (Kappa Alpha Theta), not just the sorority nickname (Theta).
We will also need her name, her address and phone number, and your information if this is your first order. You need your credit card number handy and plan what you'd like to say on the enclosure card.
7. Can I change the contents of the Bid Day package?
Unfortunately, no. We pride ourselves on being THE source for Bid Day packages and have selected products that are trendy, practical, and fun. Because Bid Day is so busy for us, we won't be able to deliver packages if we are constantly changing them. Trust us, she'll love it! <BR>
You can certainly add balloons to your package, bouquet, or gift and any other care package we do at any other time can be customized. Please be aware that Bid Day packages vary by sorority. Thank you for understanding.
8. Can my Bid Day Package order be a part of my Fall Semester Gift Plan Order?
Absolutely! We can help you with that on the phone or you can order online. A generic Bid Day package is available on the Fall Semester gift plan link. You can email us with your daughter’s sorority bid on bid night and we will send the sorority package specific to her.
9. If I order $90 of Bid Night gifts will you count that as my Fall Semester gift Plan order and can I get the FREE Tailgate Takeout cookies?
Absolutely again! You have obviously noticed that our Fall Semester Gift Plan requires 3 gifts at $29.95 value. We’ll be glad to combine those for you on Bid Night. If you order online, the shopping cart/checkout section will add in your FREE package and you can select the delivery date. If you call, let one of my friends know when you’d like your FREE Tailgate Takeout package delivered.
A note here to moms: if you’d like for your Bid Night order to be your Fall Semester Gift Plan ($90), you certainly can ask grandparents, aunts and uncles to go in with you on this order. For example, mom and dad may send the Bid Day Package, grandma may send the fleece blanket and Uncle Tim and Aunt Jane may want to send the large make up bag and balloons.
